Today I went to The Australian Consul General here in New York and voted in the Australian federal election. Am enrolled in the electorate of Wentworth. Unlike the last federal election, this time, it was an easy choice. Here's hoping I backed a winner.
Here I am with my sister, born 1962 and brother, born 1964.
My birth certificate reads that my father is a metallurgist. His work was related to Glasgow's then ship building industries.
Here are my mother's parents. My grandfather read Burns poetry on Scottish radio. My father's family owned a hotel in Maryhill and a travel agent in the city centre. Here's where I went to school, in the suburb of Bearsden, before my family immigrated to Australia under the Australian government's Assisted Migration Scheme.
I've just cut my hair. Was going to do a before and after, but forgot to do the before, anyway, here is the after. Was cold today, like in the 50s or around 12 in the celcius scale, the winter hibernation has finally begun. Made it over to MoMA, there has been a great series of Spanish movies on, all made during Franco's rule . I saw Mi Querida Señorita (My Dearest Señorita)
Sculpture by the Sea on the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk is back for another year, some pics on a flickr account here. It's all looking as lovely as ever. For things artistic and aquatic I'm afraid I can't just get dowm to Tama but hope to get to the Met on the weekend to checkout Damien Hirst's controversial shark Pictures from smh.com
