Currently showing at MoMA till August 25 is a collection of works by Bernd and Hilla Becher, Bernd,1931-2007, Hilla, b 1934, a German married couple, best known for their collaborative photographic works of industrial buildings, steel furnaces, winding towers, blast furnaces and (my favourite), water towers.

Some pictures from a Barack Obama rally in Portland Oregon last Sunday that drew a crowd of 75000 people. It is a relief to see there is more to the Democratic Party than gun totin', anti pansy dumb white folk. Even though some will continue to try to frame the party as just that, here's hoping they don't succeed.
