Thursday in New York

Tall building on the left, minus the smoke. Didn't see anything in the news about it, maybe it was just a puja ?

Thursday in New York

Great shop on Bayard St in Chinatown, you can get Thai basil, young ginger, fresh galangal, lime leaf, Vietnamese mint and that New York rarity nice fresh bean sprouts! Pomeloes are in season and I got some of them too.

APEC

The Australian Prime Minister John Howard is hosting the leaders of The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation group in Sydney, Australia. APEC has 21 member countries, including The United States. The U.S. President's visit to Australia has not received a lot of press Stateside. There was however a small to medium sized article in today's New York Times headlined - In Australia, Bush Finds An Enthusiastic Supporter. The article spoke more of anything else, Iraq, and Bush and Howard's commitment to Iraq, and the inevitable Sydney lockdown, than about APEC and what will be achieved. The Sydney Morning Herald too, seems to be more concerned with other matters than what will actually happen at the APEC summit.

There has been discussion on the merits of what George Bush ate. Where are the vegetables?
In the background, Janette Howard looks pleased with her selection, though she looks as if, over the years, she has eaten too much.

Wowowee

Today my work colleges returned to work after an absence of two weeks. They were both beside themselves with a scandal on a previous episode of Wowowee. I got to learn all about it.
