Tagged Again

I have been tagged again, this time by The Notorious Joe.

He has laid down some rules:

The Eight Things Meme

THE RULES
  • All right, here are the rules.
  • We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
  • Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
  • People who are tagged write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
  • At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

This week work-wise has been very typical.
Monday nothing
Tuesday lunch for 6
Wednesday dinner for 14
Thursday nothing but will stock the fridge/freezer for the weekend, cakes, curries, pies etc
Friday afternoon tea for 12, which is actually a lot of work as I need to prepare a selection of canapes, sweet and savory
Weekend off as per usual
( I cook for a couple who through their work entertain a lot)

What pisses me off are those dumb fuck American spell checkers that underline words like neighbour Doh!

3.
I have been obsessed with guys from earliest memory, I can recall at 5 years of age, being in the change room at the swimming pool and just wanting to stare and stare at naked men. Some things never change.

4.
I like to read the newspapers, the New York Times, Sydney Morning Herald online and a faxed copy of the Australian comes by most days.

5.
I follow the American Supreme court rulings, there have been a couple of really depressing ones of late, here and here, editorial here, Bush's legacy, the Roberts court is in full swing with it's conservative agenda and will be for many years to come.

6.
I went to Box Hill High school in Melbourne's eastern suburbs from 1979 t0 1984

7.
I prefer the bus to the subway.

8.
The heart is what matters most.

And here are the people I tag

Denys
Miss Gertie(who's actually being doing a spot of modeling of late)
Deemacgee
Rad Ass
Joe, cause he said he could write more than 8 things about himself
Rcade
My good friend C. I-R., who doesn't have a blog but with permission will print answers here

Ten Canoes

Went and saw the Australian movie Ten Canoes, which has recently opened in New York. Not that I ever had any doubt, but a rich culture existed in Australia before the white fellas arrived.
Was seductively filmed by Rolf De Heer, narrated by veteran Australian actor David Gulpilil and introduced Jamie Gulpilil in a lead role. Was just the most breathtaking film.

Stinker

Today here in New York it was a stinking hot day, all the while back in Sydney a big storm has hit. There were some great pictures on smh.com.au from an area I used to live and work at, being Bronte and Bondi, without sounding to flippant, as the storms done a lot of damage, I could handle a dip right now!

A trip to the Rockaways

Yesterday(Thursday), I took the A train to its last stop at Rockaway Park/116 st in Queens.

Looking back to The Far Rockaways.

Closer view.

There were loads of these fuckers washed up on the beach.

The water is getting warmer, warm enough to swim, was here a few weeks back, it was about 7c in, this time, about 17c Was awesome to go swimming in the ocean.

Some local gulls.

And back to Manhattan, stopped off in Chinatown as the sun was setting for some greasy dumplings.
